- Voie Triomphale -
The Voie Triomphale is an axis which runs in a direct straight line from the Louvre Palace, along the centre of the Jardins Tuileries, across the Place de la Concorde, up the Avenue des Champs Elysees, through the Arc de Triomphe and ultimately through to the modern structure of La Defense.  It lasts nine kilometres and its purpose is to promote French power and prestige.

Here you can see the Champs Elysees at night, with the
Arc, La Defence and the Egyptian obelisk (in the Place de la Concorde) in plain view.
This is an illustration of the Voie taken from the centre of the Place de la Concorde.  You'll notice the Arc de Triomphe in the distance.  This also shows how friendly the Parisian traffic is!
This was taken standing just outside the Jardins Tuileries, you'll notice a ferris wheel in the distance which is in the centre of the Place de la Concorde.
