Here are answers to questions I've been asked and common queries circling around that have to do with JTHM. If I didn't answer a question you would like to have answered, e-mail me, and I'll answer your question to the best of my ability (ha). If I cannot answer it myself, I can pose it to the visitors of the site who may be able to help.
Q: Where can I get JTHM?
A: Any comic book store should have the issues or the Director's Cut. Even some Hot Topic stores carry them. I've even seen the books on the shelves of Barnes & Noble. If all else fails, I'm sure they could specially order it for you. (That's how I got mine. Oh, the weeks of waiting I endured.) If all else fails, go to slavelabor.com and order them there. Or, if you're adventurous, try eBay.
Q: No place has it! What should I do?
A: Don't panic. If slavelabor.com or any other place doesn't have it in, wait on it. Stock is bound to replenish. (Escpecially Internet stock.) If all else fails, go to other fans. Much of what is on sites like eBay is what fans themselves are selling. Try going to a message board/LiveJournal or two to see if anyone's got anything to get rid of or if they can help you find someone who's interested in selling their JTHM books.
Q: What's the difference between the Director's Cut and the individual issues of JTHM?
A: The Director's Cut is basically the whole of JTHM in book form, but it also has character profiles, sketches, early comic strips featuring "Johnny the Little Homicidal Maniac", issue synopses, and a "super amazing interview" with Jhonen V. However, "The Meanwhiles" are left out and a one-pager featuring Jhonen was also excluded. Plus, you don't get the chance to own that amazing cover art.
Q: Can I use some of your scans?
A: I don't mind.
Q: I can't find a picture of a certain scene here; could you scan it for me?
A: As long as I have it. E-mail a description of the picture you would like, and I'll send it to you in an e-mail. Please do not ask for an entire issue. This site's purpose is to give people who aren't familiar with JTHM a taste of what they're missing. If you want an entire issue, I suggest going the extra mile to get it yourself.
Q: How do you pronounce Johnny's nickname?
A: "Nny" as in "nee" or "knee". (Click here for proof.)
Q: How do you pronounce Jhonen's name?
A: Countless interviews reveal it to be pronounced JOE-nen. The issue was even brought up on TV personally by the man himself. It is JOE-nen. If you'd like the TV proof, it was an episode of Screensavers on G4TV and can be seen here.
Q: Is Jhonen still working on JTHM?
A: Mr. Vasquez sent out a letter a couple years back explaining his future plans and the fates of past plans (i.e. - Invader ZIM). He had this to say of Johnny, and I quote: "I am NOT working on JTHM right now."
Q: What does "Z?" mean?
A: It means "question sleep". Jhonen is a noted insomniac, hence all the references to hating sleep and whatnot. The symbol pops up nearly everywhere, and it's not just in JTHM. One can even spy it on a city billboard in Invader ZIM.
Q: Is JTHM (individual issues or the Director's Cut) sold outside of the U.S.?
A: I should think that someone overseas has it. Exactly who? I have no clue. As I am based in the American midwest (i.e. - middle of nowhere), I don't get out a whole lot. I'm sure comic book stores could specially order it or websites like slavelabor.com could mail it overseas. I've gotten confirmation from a fan in Australia that special order is the way to go despite the large fanbase, whereas Victoria in Hull, England says local stores have just about everything JTHM related. So, it mostly depends on location. Some places have it, others don't.
Q: What is the name of that font with the backwards "e" that I see everywhere? Where can I find it?
A: That font is called "Ebola" and with that information one should be able to find it anywhere fonts are available. Acid Fonts has it, for example.
