| I found an interesting web site which explains the meaning behind names. I was shocked to discover they have most of the vampire's names there! It may not be an accurate meaning but why not look anyway, if only for fun. Click here for the meaning of the name Jesse and her full name Jessica. Here is the meaning from the Penguin dictionary of first names by David Pickering. This is likely to be more accurate and relevant. ~ Jessica ~ English first name that appears to have been invented by Williams Shakespeare as the name of Shylock's daughter in his play the Merchant of Venice(1596) - hence the name's long established association with Jews. It seems Shakespeare modelled the name on the Hebrew Iscah or Jesca, meaning 'God beholds', as featured in the Bible. It remained in irregular use from the 16th to the 19th century and subsquently enjoyed a considerable vogue from the 1990s. |

| I found this little doll which somehow reminded me of Jesse. What's that, I'm crazy? Yeah! It does remind me of Jesse. I got it from here. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| - My opinion of Jesse - I admire Jesse for her bravery when she is at Lestat's concert. She is an interesting enough character but not really one of my personal favourites. However she has a great scene just before Akasha arrives at the Sonoma compound. The scene is with Khayman, actually it's just a few lines. I love this scene "What did Khayman see when he looked at her now, as if he understood her. Did he see his daughter in Jesse? "Yes," Khayman said. "My daughter. And don't be afraid. Mekare will come." (The Queen of the Damned) When Mekare and Akasha have their final confrontation Jesse is lucky enough to witness the scene in Khayman's arms. It is interesting to me that she was with Khayman and not Mael. Hmm, very interesting but of course I like it! 'Louis confessing how he had lost consciousness during those awful moment; Daniel saying that he had heard our voices, yet seen nothing; Jesse in Khayman's arms, had witnessed it all.' (The Queen of the Damned) - Status of Jesse in the film The Queen of the Damned - Jesse will be played by an American actress Marguerite Moreau. I've never seen her act before so I can't really comment. However she is much younger than the 35 year old Jesse in the novel and this is because in the film she will be around 18 years old.
