Character description
'This time I was close enough to see that his bald white head did have such hairs to it, scant eyebrows of gray as thick and ugly as old splinters.'
(Vittorio the Vampire)
I found an interesting web site which explains the meaning behind names.  I was shocked to discover they have most of the vampire's names there!  It may not be an accurate meaning but why not look anyway, if only for fun.
Click here for the meaning of the name
Godric.

Here is the meaning from the Penguin dictionary of first names by David Pickering.  This is likely to be more accurate and relevant.
~ Godric ~
English name derived from the old English god('God') and ric('poweful').  It ranked among the most common names used by English speakers prior to the Norman Conquest and was so well known that the Normans often used it as a generic name for an Englishman.  It does not appear to have been used after the 14th century.
- My opinion of Godric -
Well that is the most awful character description ever, right?  Most vampires have some physical beauty but not Godric it seems.  Actually he did some awful things because as he was the elder, he must have ordered the attack and destruction of Vittorio's family.  Not a nice character who got what was coming to him.  I'm searching for a suitably unattractive picture!
