| I found an interesting web site which explains the meaning behind names. I was shocked to discover they have most of the vampire's names there! It may not be an accurate meaning but why not look anyway, if only for fun. Click here for the meaning of the name Eric. Here is the meaning from the Virgin book of baby names by Emily Wood. This is likely to be more accurate and relevant. ~Eric ~ From the old Norse words meaning 'monarch'. One of the most infamous bearers of the name was the tenth century Eric Bloodaxe, who killed seven of his brothers to secure the throne. |

| - My opinion of Eric - I'm sure Eric would be an interesting character if we knew more about him! I guess Anne forgot about him or something. Well I haven't! What I can't figure out is why he was so afraid of Akasha. He was Maharet's child after all, perhaps that's the reason. I found it interesting that Anne described him as being 'bleached' by the centuries. Bleached?? - Status of Eric in The Queen of the Damned - Eric will not appear in the film. |
