From the Hebrew meaning 'beloved'. In the Bible, David was a shepherd who fought the giant Goliath and later became King of Israel. The name has several forms including Dai, Dafydd, Dewi and Tafydd. At the end of the twentieth century, David was among the most popular names given to boys.

- My opinion of David -
Of course I like David, I'm a fellow Brit! There aren't many of them in the chronicles, unfortunately. For those of you wondering why there are two pictures of David - go read the Tale of the Body Thief. It will all become clear and I'll say no more as I don't want to spoil it for you. I love the fact that David is trying to get all the ancient vampires to tell their stories. I'm sure he'll get to Khayman, Mael and Santino eventually...if he's too busy I'll do the 'job' for him!

David will be played by the Irish actor Paul McGann in the film. This should prove fine as he is an experienced actor often on television in Britain.
