I found an interesting web site which explains the meaning behind names. I was shocked to discover they have most of the vampire's names there! It may not be an accurate meaning but why not look anyway, if only for fun.

The feminine form of Claud. In the Bible, Claudia is a friend of St Paul. He wrote her a letter addressed to her and Timothy shortly before he was martyred for his faith.

- My opinion of Claudia -
I feel so sorry for Claudia. Who would want to be remain a child forever? Not me anyway. Although I think Lestat was wrong to make her immortal she certainly did not deserve to die in such an awful manner. I think that Anne Rice was the first author to mention a child vampire in any great detail though I cannot be sure. This is a credit to Rice's unique and trend setting style of writing.

- Status of Claudia in the film Interview with the Vampire -
I really enjoyed Kirsten Dunst's performance - it was amazing. I have no idea how she managed to convey so much at such a young age.
