Certainly a very complicated relationship when you take into account the fact that Khayman was forced to rape Maharet.... At first glance, it is apparent that they love
each other, this is probably true since she and Mekare are the only two from his past who can
fully understand what he’s been through, obviously giving them a strong link. Yet it is
interesting to wonder why Maharet and Khayman never met in the space of 6000 years. Of
course Khayman was not conscious during this entire period but still…it is strange that
Maharet did not try to find him. The obvious response to this would be that she was consumed in her search for her sister Mekare. In addition to that, the First Brood are unable to sense each other's presence, leaving the chance of them meeting again very slim.
