those awful moments; Daniel saying that he had heard our voices, yet seen nothing; Jesse in
Khayman’s arms, had witnessed it all.'
Obviously Khayman cares a great deal about Jesse, and she no doubt is fond of him too. The
fact that he looks after her during Akasha and Mekare’s final confrontation is proof of
this. It is interesting that Khayman was the one who did this, since Mael is so fond of
Jesse himself and he was there too.
